About me: Jianing

Jianing is a prospective Comp Lit major who loves languages almost more than bubble tea, and a proud Forbesian who nonetheless complains about #thewalk (read: the cold) all the time. On campus, she’s involved in Chinese Theatre, l’Avant Scène, Petey Greene, the Institute of Chocolate Studies, as well as several publications including the Daily Princetonian and Princeton Journal of East Asian Studies. She also co-founded Princeton Language Housing Association, interns for the university’s Office of Communications, and enjoys hiking across the woods near campus at around midnight. She’s also tired of writing in third person, so…

I really loved my CA trip (and group! @Kadence) on criminal justice at the beginning of this year, so after that I’ve been volunteering at a local prison with the Petey Greene Program, during which I got to tutor multiple incarcerated persons who are extremely friendly, respectful, and genuine, not to mention their curiosity and dedication to learning. I hope to delve deeper into this topic by leading this breakout trip with Kadence, and I’m excited to work with this amazing group!
